Skip to 8:44 if you’re here just to learn how I curl my hair!
YAY, HAIR, HAIR, and MORE HAIR! This topic was probably one of my most requested topics to go over. Below, I noted some bullet points below on things I feel I may have forgotten to add during my explanation as well as the brand of hair I use and my salon/stylist’s information!
Notable & missed points:
- I wash my hair once a week & do a ‘root wash’ in between each week – you don’t want to over wash because it’s not good for the hair. Remember, hair extensions are STILL HAIR. So you need to maintain it as if it’s your own real hair.
- Braid your hair in a loose braid before bed to keep the hair from pulling, matting/tangling
- Brush your hair everyday at least twice. I know this sounds like a given but my stylist said you’d actually be surprised how lazy people are and how long of days they go without brushing hair (ehh…. :/)
- When you go in for your move-up appointment, you can always take them out if you don’t want them in anymore. Just get them reinstalled later whenever you want them back in. That’s the beauty of tape-ins, they’re versatile and flexible! That’s what I’ll be doing at my next appointment. I want to save them for my wedding so I don’t have to spend money and purchase a whole new set of hair again. Just throw them in a zip lock bag and save it for when you feel like being a mermaid again!
Brand of hair: Hot Heads
Length I used: 18-20″
Color: Not sure the number but I blended two different colors/packs. One was blonde and another was an ashier blonde.
Stylist: Sarah Stout (instagram & email)
Salon: The Salon & Spa in Yorba Linda, CA
These photos are from my “extension move-up” appointment (what I mentioned needed to be done every 6-8 weeks).
- What the extensions look like
- Sarah (my stylist) spraying on the solution that loosens up the tape adhesive to easy removal.
- Showing her peeling off the top layer of the extension
- Explaining that the white dots on my hair are NOT DANDRUFF! It’s just how the residue of the solution spray looks like!
- The end product
