My MOHs, Christy & Paige did an absolutely SPECTACULAR job hosting our engagement party! I was blown away at how well and detailed everything was. It was honestly a dream come true and more than I could’ve ever expected or asked for! I will let the photos speak for themselves because words honestly can not do their job justice. Our party was held at Christy’s gorgeous home and we had about 40 guests showed! We wanted to keep it smaller – just the bridal party and very close family & friends. The goal and objective of the party was to get everyone well acquainted so that come the wedding day, everyone would be a familiar face. It just breaks the ice and really helps improve the overall atmosphere come the wedding.
I was pleasantly surprised at how well everyone got along! Usually there are a few stragglers but not here – every single guest was in deep conversation the entire evening with someone new they’d met. It touched my heart. It gave me a huge sense of family, something I never had growing up except in my later years when I became friends with Paige and their family adopted me as their second daughter!
We started off the evening with popping open some champs and indulging in some of the best catered food I’ve ever eaten! We spent most of the time mingling and taking photos with our backdrop which was literally PERFECT for the occasion! We then wrapped up with some trivia games!
The first came was “Jess or Tyler”? Ty and I created questions for Christy and Paige to ask the guests. They’d shout out their answers and we’d then reveal the correct answer after each question!
Here are a few:
Who liked who first? – Ty liked me
Who is the better cook? – Me
Who takes longer showers? – Tyler
Who is crankier in the morning? – Me
Who controls the TV remote? – Tyler
Who gets hangry? – Tyler
Who hogs the bed? – Me
Our second game was “Who Knows Who Better?”. We had everyone group up and think of one question to ask Tyler about me and one question to ask me about Tyler. A couple questions we were asked:
Who is Tyler’s favorite football player? – Phil Rivers. Duh. Easy.
Who asked who out first and what was the first date? – I supposed I asked Tyler out, I was given tickets to Kobe’s second to last home game and took him!
It truly was a magical night and will be something Tyler, I, and all our guests remember for the rest of our lives! All of our guest had such an amazing time and kept raving about it the day after. Christy’s parents were amazing hosts and my two lovely ladies (and their mothers) truly outdid theirselves. I am so incredibly blessed to have them all in my life!
Oh yeah and ALL of the decor and desserts were MADE by the girls! Yes, that includes this donut cake and all of the floral arrangements as well. Enjoy all the photos!!
