I will get to my AM routine soon, but to me, the PM routine has always been more important. There’s no scientific knowledge backing that whatsoever, I just feel after a long day, with all that my skin has gone through, I really want to take good care of it so that while I sleep, it can rest and recover as well!
First step is of course cleansing. I switch back and forth between a very gentle exfoliating wash and a hydrating milk wash. I use my Vanity Planet Glow Spin brush about twice a week (usually on days of wearing heavy make up). On all other days, I just wash with my hands. On Sundays specifically, after cleansing, I’ll go in with my MF People Super Scrub Face. This rids all my dead skin, rough bumps from pimples and dirt/oil build up, and any dry pealing areas. A very small dab goes a very long way.
After cleansing, I apply my Context Hydrating Toner on a circle cotton pad. I LOVE THIS TONER. It removes any excess dirt or make up my cleanser didn’t get. Best of all, it smells freaking amazing. I have relatively dry skin so I try to keep all my products within the ‘hydrating’ family. After wiping this on, my face already feels partially hydrated (I have yet to put on any moisturizer at this point).
Only 3 nights a week, after toning, I apply my SkinCeuticals Retinol Refining Night Cream. This retinol cream promotes healthy cell regeneration and collagen production to reduce visible signs of aging, enlarged pores and blemishes. It also prevents skin damage caused by free radicals. Because it is a strong cream, you do not need to use it every night. Every other night is enough, however, starting out, you must ease into this cream. I would apply it no more than once every two to three days for the first two weeks.
I then go in with my SkinCeuticals A.G.E. Eye Complex. So although you cannot necessarily fix your current eye bags, you can use this to help prevent them from getting worse! There really isn’t anything out there that eliminates your eye bags for good… so if they’re advertising that, it’s most likely false! Do note that you should apply your eye creams in the CONTOUR of your eye, aka along the eye socket bone – not on your eye bags. I also throw a thin layer on the skin above my top lip. The skin there is extremely thin and thus needs protection as well. I also apply this eye complex in the AM.
**Update since publishing this post back in May. I have since switched to ALASTIN Restorative Eye Treatment. I feel like I’ve seen more results with this than the A.G.E. Eye Complex. It has brightened up my under eyes. It has not eliminated them as no cream has the power to do that, but this personally has worked much better for me.
My FAVORITE facial moisturizer is the Belif Aqua Bomb. This stuff is amazing. I used to get dry or peeling spots all the time but since using this, my skin as been smooth. It’s a translucent gel-type moisturizer. It almost doesn’t feel like lotion because of its consistency but it’s almost better because it’s so lightweight. That’s not the best part though.. a little bit goes a very very long way aka this is going to last you forever!
