I had the pleasure of staying at the beautiful, newly-renovated, mid-century modern Villa Royale in Palm Springs earlier this week. The hotel has been there since the 40’s but had gone through a complete renovation, reopening October of 2018.

This is the first time I’ve ever been to a hotel anywhere and not left the premises and quite honestly, you didn’t need to. Every. single. corner. of the property provided new and beautiful sceneries. To sum it up, I pretty much got a 7 for 1 deal. You got modern, you got mid-century, you got traditional, you got eclectic, you got European, you got everything. My blogger girlfriends and I arrived Monday. We checked into our cute two-room villa. It was located right across the fountained courtyard. I personally prefer the courtyard because 1. I love the sound of running water, 2. You can still go to the pool and experience an entirely new atmosphere. If you’re staying by the pool, you don’t really get to experience and pass through the other areas of the hotel as frequently because everything is mainly central to the pool.
We immediately went to the pool (duh) and had pretty much a rock star photo shoot haha. The following morning, we snagged some free breakfast they provide in this super cute nook, seating area. They set out trays of fresh fruit, croissants, assorted pastries, and teas & coffee. Then we took a private pilates class in the living room of our villa! The class was provided by Ara Pilates, a brand new studio in Indian Wells that just opened this week! It was all our first times trying pilates but oh my lord, it was such a crazy good workout! We didn’t sweat too much but woke up with crazy sore abs the next morning. It’s definitely something I will be trying again! That night, we checked out Del Rey, their restaurant and bar on-site. It had total speakeasy feels. It’s dark and moody, but the good and sexy kind. Lots of wood, tuft leather, velvet, and gold accents. We started off with some of their two signature happy hour cocktails (Shy Ricky – like a moscow mule, Permanent Friends- not sure but still good haha), and some shared bites. We ordered the Manchengo Bomba (3 pc, highly recommend) and the flatbread. Then finished off with the grilled steak which, again, phenom. We finished all our nights with some jacuzzi time and Bachelor. What I loved about the jacuzzis was that they had multiple jacuzzis and they were all in different parts of the property, all remote private corners. You literally feel submerged in nature with all the lush landscaping surrounding you!
If you’re visiting Palm Springs any time soon, I highly recommend staying at Villa Royale. They truly pay so much attention to detail in every inch of their property, even down to the hotel room keys! The staff is wonderful, the property is quiet and peaceful, and it’s central to everything in Palm Springs!
