I definitely had not planned to attend F/W ’19 New York Fashion Week as of early January but had some convincing by my girlfriend Linh to ‘just go’, and that was it. I clearly very hard to persuade and convince *eye roll*. So what is Fashion Week? For those whom are unfamiliar with this crazed week-long of shows and events, NYFW is held twice a year, in February (showcasing the current year’s fall/winter collections) and in September (showing the following year’s spring/summer collections).
It generally lasts 7-9 days where brands from all over the world showcase their collections to the press, buyers, celebrities, and general public. It is one of the ‘Big Four’ fashion week shows, the others in London, Paris, and Milan. Tickets are private and invite only (you can see the complete NYFW schedule here). However, there are sometimes some smaller installments and showcases that may be open to the public.
Kimmy and I will be heading out on the 7th for 4 days. We will be meeting Linh who will already be there. We have been admitted to a few shows, one of them being SON JUNG WAN, a renown Korean designer. Honestly, I am so grateful and excited given I did not expect to go to any shows at all. I was thinking it would be a content trip mixed with people watching. Now, I’ll be part of the mix!
Here’s our event/show schedule:
2/07 – Joss Medina
2/08 – Fashion Hong Kong, Chiara Boni La Petite Robe
2/09 – Son Jung Wan
2/10 – International Designer Showcase, Global Fashion Collective 1
As far as what I’m wearing. Well, I’ve never experienced an east coast winter so this will be interesting haha but my palette remains relatively neutral. Blacks, browns and tans make up most of my outfits. I am letting this be my ‘trial’ period. I feel like I have an idea of what to expect with outfits from other fellow bloggers/celebs/industry personnel, however at the same time, I feel like I’ll be in for a rude awakening haha. Either or, I will link all items still available in my NYFW recap blog post!
