It has been a hot minute and again, I apologize for not updating my blog! It’s been a crazy last few months so here I am to recap what’s been going on! From shooting bridal with BHLND/Anthropologie in Napa, to Coachella and Stagecoach, to KTLA morning news, it’s going to be a fun and lit blog post
MARCH aka I don’t really remember
Too much has happened that most months have been a blur and I am referring back to my agenda to let me know what happened so I can type this haha. You all know I laughed my sunglass collection with ASRTD! But other than that, Halee came to visit, we went to Disneyland, and I STARTED MY WOMENS GROUP! I DID IT! I just literally told myself… do it, so I did. And it was SO COOL. I had over 50 people take interest and send their emails. My first two meetings, I had a group of 11 including me. I honestly would’ve been happen with just 3. So you can definitely say my heart was full. We have been meeting every other week since and I’ve been taking them to Rock Harbor’s Third Wednesday. It’s my church’s worship night where we just sing from 7-9pm. If youre reading and interested, I suggest coming to one. It’s truly my favorite day of each month.
APRIL aka the month of festival madness
Late March and all of April was filled with Coachella and Stagecoach preparation. I didn’t go to Coachella but I still refer to all of ‘that stuff’ as Coachella. Actually, I have not been to Coachella since 2014! My first year was in 2009 and I literally rolled up in a tube top, shorts, and vans. That’s how casual and laid back it used to be! Not to mention tickets were sold in single day, paper form…. oh how times have changed. But when I refer to ‘Coachella’, I really mean all the Coachella parties and Revolve Festival that happen during Weekend 1! A whole crew of us got a house together in Palm Springs and pretty much mobbed to all the events together including Prism Boutique x L*Space x Matisse, ZOEasis, E.L.F. x BloggersWhoBrunch, Tractenberg Co., all our glam squad appointments, and of course, Revolve Festival! All were fabulous! Now, although I love all the Coachella buzz, my REAL holiday and ‘fun time’ happens during STAGECOACH. I starter going to Stagecoach in 2015 and honestly, it was by far 1000x more fun than Coachella. The atmosphere is just so different. At Coachella, you get a mix of everything, which is cool, but also is what ultimately divides the crowd. At Stagecoach, everyone there is for the same artists, everyone is dressed similar, everyone is singing the same songs, it’s just so much more cohesive. Ash, Kelsey, Chelsie, Teila, and I all went in on a house together. It was my first time staying at a home on PGA West and it’s safe to say I will never stay anywhere else! All other years, I have RV camped, which is SO MUCH FUN, but we didn’t know too many people RV camping this year. We went on behalf of Bai, the drink company, and they truly made our experience so memorable! I love every day and every artist. My highlights were Russell Dickerson, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Old Dominion, Luke Combs, and of course.. DIPLO! If Stagecoach continues to merge more EDM/hip-hop with country, I totally see them expanding and making more use of the grounds, and eventually even making it two weekends. It was so much more packed this year than the last year I went which was 2017. Like, significantly. So I hope that happens, and yes, you better believe, I will be there both weekends.
MAY aka the month of half rest half insanity
May was fun. I was able to relax (kind of) the first two weeks of May before things picked up again. I did a fun little shoot with Rebag.com. They opened a brand new location in Arcadia at Westfield Santa Anita and asked me to come in and shoot content with their media team for the grand opening! The later half of May was TYLER’S ACADEMY GRADUATION. Wowowow, I was so incredibly excited for this day to come, just because I have kept you all in the loop with our journey, well, his journey, and honestly, I felt like it was 0.1% my graduation too because I had to go through all of those six brutal months alongside with him. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful ceremony. We mobbed down to San Diego for that weekend with some other academy classmates to celebrate. All of Tylers best friends whom live in SD were able to partake in our shindigs since they couldn’t make it to his grad. It was a LETTT weekend to say the least 🙂 Following that weekend, I went to the Temecula Balloon and Wine Festival with Toyota! It would’ve been the first time camping as an adult with the help of NO BOYS but I brought one of my best friends, KP, along and she is a camping guru so it worked out perfect. I was scared at first because I know how high maintenance I can be, but I was so proud of myself for roughing it and not complaining once. Honestly, it was extremely therapeutic and detoxing for my mind and body. It was nice living in the moment, being outdoors the entire time, and really simplifying our living.
In terms of music, they had a great array of country artists this year which, DUH, MY FAV. I even got to meet Russell Dickerson! I am such a corn nut, I totally showed him Tyler and my engagement video because we used his song, ‘I’m Yours’. I don’t want to braaaaggg or anything but I have know RD’s songs for years now! Blue Tacoma is NOT NEW. It definitely came out back in 2016 or early 2017 but I think barely got picked up more recently.
Anyway, back to the festival, it was such a great time. To add onto the calmness of camping, what I loved about the festival was that everyone was there to just enjoy their time. No one was in a rush to get drunk, everyone was literally lounging and relaxing. Definitely a change of pace from most festivals I am used to and I loved every moment of it. The only downfall about that weekend was that we didn’t get to see the sky filled with balloons! Typically all the balloons take flight at 5am until late morning and literally, the sky is nothing but hot air balloons! Our mornings were filled with thick thick fog and heavy mist so for safety and lack of visibility reasons, balloons weren’t allowed to take flight. The overcast didn’t even clear up until after 2pm most of the weekend. So hopefully next year I’ll be invited back and we’ll have better luck with the balloons!
JUNE aka more craziness but finally slowing down
Ok I lied, Temecula Balloon and Wine happened first weekend of June. So there was that, then the weekend after was Splash House. I brought Kimmy with me to that and it was such a fun little nugget weekend. I feel like it’s hard to find people you thoroughly enjoy traveling with aka people whom are always on the same page as you and who make traveling easy and stress-free. Kimmy is that person. KP is too honestly. I guess I’m just lucky with chill friends haha. So if you’re unfamiliar with Splash House, its a two day festival in Palm Springs that takes place simultaneously at three different hotels. Just think of it as each hotel is a ‘stage’. And yes, theres free shuttle buses to take to you and fro your hotel of choice. They also have something called After Hours which is a night party from 9pm-2am that takes place at the Palm Springs Air Museum. You’re literally concert-ing in a plane hangar!
The line up was dope. It was all DJs (Justice, Pete Tong, AC Slater, A-Trak, Jax Jones, Dirty South) that I grew up listening to all throughout high school and college. It takes place twice a year, once at the beginning of summer and again at the end. I recommend going to the first one just because although June is hot, August is hotter and it’s exhausting being in that kind of heat all day long.
After that weekend wrapped up, I was finally home for a weekend for the first time in a month! I was just glad to be able to deep clean and be a home body. My old 19-23 year old self could have done this for another month but oh man, my body literally hated me. So since, then, I have been focusing on gaming again consistently, eating better, and getting my life organized! The only other things I really did were go to brand events with my blogger girlfriends! One big life change that I made two weeks ago was giving up dairy and beef! After seeing the videos that surfaced of Fair Oaks Farms (largest dairy distributer in the U.S.) and how poorly they treated their cows, I was absolutely sick to my stomach and instantly could no longer look at dairy or beef the same way. I have only mistakenly eaten dairy twice… once with pizza because honestly, I just forgot LOL, and again this morning on my avocado toast! I asked for no cheese topping but didn’t realize their bread was toasted with Asiago. Aside from that, I’ve been doing great and don’t miss any of it at all!
I had the pleasure of filming a segment on KTLA morning news with VICI! VICI had their own segment showcasing spring and summer fashions and Vici selected five of us to be models for that portion. It was such a surreal experience especially being on set while the news reporting was live. It’s just something I never thought I would see and I am so blessed to have had the opportunity. Peep the segment here!
Lastly, my 10 year reunion is this Saturday which I am so excited for. My high school was really tight and not only that, we were also super tight with the grades above and below us. We were a huge family and it was some of my funnest years! So needless to say, everyone is beyond stoked to see each other!
So I think that pretty much covers it. Now, I’m two blog posts in for June! Haha, we’re slowly getting back folks. Love you all!
