One of my best tidbits of advice for a bride 4 months (or less) out from her wedding is to really begin a good overall wellness regimen. Now that I’m less than a month away and crunch time has begin, my skin is going crazy from all the stress. Honestly though, it could have been 10x worse. However, because I have been taking effective steps for all-around wellness, they’re subtle – enough for me to notice and be annoyed, but again, not nearly as bad as it could’ve been. I’ve had friends who didn’t do much leading up to the wedding and ended up breaking out insane amounts weeks before due to stress. Don’t be that friend!
Below, I’ve compiled a month by month plan below for any brides-to-be to implement into their daily and monthly routine.
5-4 Months Out
– Research what facial work is best for your skin type and set up a consultation with an aesthetician to see what is feasible within your budget
– Get educated on how to best prep your skin type for the wedding
– Depending on your budget, begin saving for these beauty procedures3 Months Out
– Begin your monthly facials. I suggest once a month (2 if you can afford it) until your wedding!
– Get on a consistent workout schedule. If you’re just starting out, hit the gym 2-3 times a week for at least 40 minutes
– Start cleaning up your eating habits. Clean eating heavily affects your energy levels/mood, skin**, and obviously how you look. You can workout all you want, but if you’re eating unhealthy food, you will not see any progress.
– Incorporate daily multivitamins into your diet (Olly provides great & cheaper options – Women’s Multivitamins gummies, Flawless Complexion gummies)
– Optional: I started drinking 1 bottle of Kombucha per day and I honestly started seeing a difference in my energy, digestive, and my stomach has looked a little flatter. I have no idea if these are actual results of it but that’s what it’s done for me.
2 Months Out
– Set up all beauty appointments if need be. I.E. Hair color touch up/extensions, microblading for eyebrows – things that have some down time or need time to fix incase something goes wrong. Microblading will take 3-4 weeks to get full results.
– Test out eyelash extensions if you want
– Get your monthly facial
– Increase your workout days to 3 times a week
– Continue to stricken your diet!
– Begin drinking a lot of water everyday – most would say 1 gallon but that’s hard for me. I try to shoot for 3/4 of a gallon
– Complete your hair and make up trials
1 Month Out
– Set up all remaining beauty appointments for the wedding (hair, nails, lashes)
– Up your workout days to 4 days a week
– Continue drinking lots of water!
– Get on a teeth whitening regimen whether its whitening strips or getting them professionally whitened
– Protect your lips! I got the Coola Chapstick with spa 30. It’s also very hydrating!
1 Week Out
– Chill on the salty foods. This will significantly reduce bloat
– Eat the bulk of your carbs in the morning. After 3pm, try to eat very little to no carbs
– Get your lady parts waxed, trimmed
– Get a mani/pedi
– Avoid laying out in any bikini with crazy lines/straps. I would stop laying out maybe 5 days out. After that, if you’re still not satisfied with your tan, look into self tanning lotions. I personally love Coola’s Self Tanning Firming Lotion. It’s streak free, so easy to apply, not messy at all, and doesn’t color transfer.
– Keep your face out of the sun if you were laying out by the pool, let alone going in the water. If you do go in the water, rinse off the chlorine immediately after. We were in the pool Friday and I ended up getting dry spots all over my face Saturday during make up which I was so upset about because all the work leading up to skin prep to avoid those dry spots went to waste just from one afternoon at the pool.
– Get good rest! If you have issues falling asleep like I do, the Olly Restful Sleep gummies are going to be your BEST friend. I used to take ZZZquil but it also took me forever to wake up and hours for it to wear off in the mornings. Olly gummies put me in some of the deepest sleep I’ve ever had and as soon as that alarm goes up, I’m wide awake and ready to go. The nights I take Olly Restful Sleep gummies, I don’t drink a lick of coffee the next day. Its amazing stuff. The suggested amount is 2 gummies but its powerful stuff, so start with just 1. My friends who started with 2 had like crazy nightmares haha.
