Okay, if you’re 5’3″ and under, chances are you’ve been riding the ‘cuffin my jeans’ train for a majority of your life. I stopped wearing jeans for a hot minute simply because I was getting so sick and tired of having to get my jeans hemmed all the time! However, I’ve reincarnated the denim phased and I’m here to help you girls discover my favorite denim brands that won’t require you to do anything to your jeans except put them on! WOW, WHAT A CONCEPT! Before we begin, may I note that if & when you are shopping for jeans, anyone falling 5’3″ and under should look for jeans with a 28″ or shorter inseam. For reference, I am 5′ 1.5″ and 28″ inseam on me is full length. Search for that number online in the description or on the tag in-store. At the very bottom, I will include additional brands I haven’t personally purchased from yet but know they carry petite/short options and have heard great things about!
These are my go-to’s. I’m all about high-waisted super stretchy denim. I hate the feeling of my stomach hanging over my jeans when I sit so these fix that issue. I fluctuate weight a lot (up and down 2-5lbs).. and one size still fits me during all my weight phases. Jonis are the perfect blend between leggings and jeans. I have 3 pairs – black, white, and denim. They range $65-80 but are worth the price. I’ve had these jeans for years and still wear them. All my personal shopping clients I’ve suggested these to are all obsessed as well. These models are probably 5’5″ so the denim hits shorter on them. With my height, they fit perfect. Jonis come in 4-5 wash colors with 2-3 distress styles. TopShop also has petite options in mom jeans and other fits too.

Yes, I know, AE? What? We wore these when we were in middle and high school? Welp, they’re making a comeback and their mom jeans are my absolutely favorites pair of denim ever. They have “short” options in their denim which again, makes our lives easy. You’ve definitely seen these jeans in so many of my photos but probably don’t realize they’re AE. I do cuff them a LITTLE but maybe one or two rolls at most only because I like the look of cuffed ends on mom jeans. However I do also wear them uncuffed as well – I wear a size 0 short.
Busted Knees
Black Applique
Overall Distressed
Solid Light Wash
YAY! I am a Free People fanatic so when they came out with these, I died. Their ‘regular’ sizes have a 27″ inseam. Their ‘long’ comes in 29″ so make sure you select ‘regular’ when purchasing! These are a mid-waist fit and are thicker than the Jonis because they’re not as stretch, so if you’re looking for a true denim feel, these are perfect! There are over 8 colors available.
Medium Wash
Black
Dark Wash
Dark Green
Below are my Instagram posts that include denim all listed above!
2. Citizens of Humanity – Citizens were my favorite brand of jeans in high schools; I literally lived in them. These Liya Petite jeans are a 24.5″ inseam so the term “cropped” for us FINALLY means cropped. If you’re any taller than 5’3″, these are going to look awkward on you.
3. Gap has both short options and petite options! Like literally, look at this screen shot. So. Many. Options.
4. New York and Company – Tyler’s mom swears by these – she’s 5’1″. Every time I see her in jeans, I obsess, ask her where they’re from, and her answer is the same every time – NY&Co.
