Before I begin, I must disclaim this only because I myself ran into this issue A LOT. If you’re getting married in the winter or fall months, do NOT wait till a month before to search for white dresses to wear for photos or to all your events. WHY?
Because white isn’t a trend after Labor Day. Fall colors are in and therefore your white dress selection will be scarce. We took our engagement photos in October and LET. ME. TELL. YOU. Aside from already being a picky shopper, in which I believe everyone is picky to a certain degree, I easily looked over 50 sites for the perfect white dress. Well, I ended up buying it second hand off POSHMARK of all places. After that 2-month struggle, I did not hesitate to wait any longer to start racking up the white dresses for my other events.
Another thing to keep in mind – I love Australian brands. Because their seasons are flipped, you have a better chance searching their sites for white garments over American retailers during these months. The dress below that I wore for our engagement party was from an Aussie site.If you’re getting married in the spring or summer, STILL do not wait. I still searched high and low for cute white dresses and although they’re more easily accessible, if you’re picky like me, it’ll still be a process. I ended up wearing a very faint/blush pink dress to my first shower and a colorful skirt and top set to my second. My second shower was Coachella themed and I couldn’t find anything white or cream AND boho that hadn’t already been played out in previous years. So.. yeah. Don’t wait till the last minute! Even if you are easy to shop for, still begin your searches ahead of time. If you fall in love with a dress early on, you’ll more than likely still love it come your event. If you find something else, whatever, white dresses are always in and as a pre-bride, you’ll be wearing tons of white regardless.I wore this for my bachelorette (May) but bought this top (size XS) from from House of CB back in November haha. That’s a stretch however I knew I would use it for one of my bridal events. Pants (size 2) are by Ripley Rader!
Also, don’t hesitate to start looking around early for swimwear either! I bought my swimsuit (XS) and cover up (XS/S – sold out) 2 months prior. Loved it when I saw it, still love it the same 1 month removed.Below, I’ve rounded up sites I found had a larger inventory of white dresses/options. I was going to show personal picks but figured my picks wouldn’t be cute to everyone and I don’t want to discourage, so I’m just listing the stores and y’all can look for yourselves. When searching dresses, to make your shopping easier, use their filter.
