When I hear the term ‘goal’, I personally feel an attached connotation of ‘admiring from afar but maybe not ever achieving’ those things for yourself, at least not all of them. A lot of people set goals but fail to accomplish them thus pushing the resolution back yet another year. So for me, I don’t like to make a “goals” list for myself. I simply make “to-do” lists. Just by using that term over ‘goal’, I’m somehow much more motivated – not to mention I LOVE the satisfaction of physically crossing things off of my to-do lists.
I also make my list end of January. This is because I feel I have a better sense of how the year will pan out. I base it on the speed and progress already obtained within the first few weeks. Also, things that I want to complete may already get checked off my list so I’m better able to fine tune or expand on my line items.
